"Light is the invisible layer of architecture."
Ashwamedha began as a lighting practice. It became a system of thinking about how architecture should be illuminated, and eventually, a platform.
A lighting design consultancy, founded in Bangalore
Ashwamedha Design Solutions was founded to make architectural lighting a discipline, not a decoration. We design lighting for residential, commercial, hospitality, landscape and facade projects across India and internationally.
Seven years of practice across 108+ projects
Every project becomes a study in how light behaves in real architecture, villas, offices, hotels, gardens and facades. Each site adds another layer of evidence to how we make decisions.
Process built from repetition
Across projects, the reasoning behind lighting decisions, lux targets, beam angles, colour temperatures, glare control, began to converge. We turned that reasoning into internal systems: calculation libraries, simulation templates and decision frameworks.
Simulation-led, measurable design
Today every Ashwamedha project is grounded in Lighting Intelligence, DIALux simulations, lux calculations, UGR analysis and visual comfort studies. Design intent is validated before construction begins, not after.
The intelligence, productised
Alya is the platform that carries this structured thinking outside our studio. Built from real project experience, it helps designers move from intuition to clarity. Ashwamedha designs the spaces; Alya carries the intelligence forward.
Srikrishna Ellore
Founder & Principal Lighting Designer
I founded Ashwamedha Design Solutions because lighting in architecture deserved a discipline of its own.
Every project we take on is approached as a canvas where light becomes a material, shaping how people experience form, texture and atmosphere. Over years of practice, the reasoning behind these decisions began to form into a system.
That system became Alya. Ashwamedha continues to design lighting for physical spaces; Alya carries the intelligence forward as a platform.
Our Practice
We combine technical precision with design sensitivity, simulation, analysis and deep spatial understanding, to deliver lighting that serves both function and atmosphere. From luxury residences to hospitality landmarks, every project reflects a commitment to thoughtful, intelligent design.
